The Gappy Tooth team say: “We’re incredibly excited to announce that we’ll be hosting the debut public gig of Gloucestershire’s Dead Anyway. They effectively deal in twisted trip hop, bleak mordantly funny poetry, and surreal supercilious sneers. A cross between Sleaford Mods, Dry Cleaning and a belligerently tipsy Lamb.”
Quality mixed bag of sounds again at this month’s GTI with Oxfordshire’s Haints mixing power pop, and punk into a Lemonheads, Rise Against! and Jawbreaker-flavoured broth alongside Gloucestershire’s Dead Anyway, making their live debut tonight and blending influences of Lamb, Sleaford Mods and Dry Cleaning into a trip hop-poetry-punk gumbo. Bleakly entrancing instrumental guitar noise in a Slint vein from he didnt.
The estimated running times for the evening are as follows:
We are thrilled to announce our debut London gig for the wonderful Bugbear Bookings at the iconic Dublin Castle in Camden.
Quatermass 3 - In a dark but enigmatic corner of the British psychogeographical mind map, just a stone's throw from Quality Street, natch, and also the flesh pots and gaiety houses of Brighton....we shall find fevered and psychedelically cerebral post punk rom the people behind World of Twist, Earl Brutus and The Dials. A must see outerspacial happening.
Artificially Yours - electronica and psych seamlessly stitched together by this rather fetching 3 piece. Getting plaudits from all quarters of the pop press right now and quite bleedin right too.
Dead Anyway - Talking of plaudits and pop press n all that here's a band from Gloucester whose remarkable music has been turning heads from Tom Robinson to Fresh On The Net- Marc Symonds and Kate Arnold make meaty loops driven techy and guitar splattered art pop that has a kind of Big Black meets Poison Girls feel, albeit on a moonlit night in a misty glade somewhere in the Forest Of Dean. If Dry Cleaning were from the wrong (right) side of the tracks...Can only be a good thing.

110% (#1) by Dead Anyway is for my money the oddest song to make our faves this week, the song follows stream-of consciousness lyrics, a distillation of clichés of the banalities of modern-day life, which gets it message across in less than two minutes without overstaying its welcome.
It’s the sort of song that could find its way to becoming a surprise hit!
